Nearly 55,000 families have reportedly been impacted by the storms, with their belongings and dwellings damaged.

Persistent storms over the last seven days have intensified the extremely difficult circumstances of the vast number of evacuated Palestinians in the territory, as reported by humanitarian groups.

"Terrible" Conditions Brings Grave Dangers

A official described the weather overnight as "terrible", with precipitation so heavy that up to 15cm (6in) of water accumulated on the streets.

"These conditions was truly difficult for the residents. The storms were so powerful... And the gusts were so strong," stated the official.

There is grave worry that young ones sheltering in temporary structures in damp attire will fall victim to hypothermia and additional illnesses.

Fatalities and Widespread Destruction

Medical officials have reported that one baby has passed away from the cold and at least 11 other people have died in roof cave-ins due to the storms.

Additional accounts put a greater number of casualties. Spokespeople reported that multiple structures had fully given way and dozens had collapsed partially.

  • Roughly 55,000 families affected by the weather.
  • More than 40 emergency safe spaces severely flooded.
  • Numerous individuals required to relocate again.

Aid Operations Seen as Insufficient

Groups have increased distribution of tents, warm covers and clothes following the halt in hostilities started, but they emphasize there is continues to be not enough aid entering.

"Officials are working relentlessly to provide that assistance and to allocate it, but the scale of the requirements is so vast that we still have a great number of families and minors who are genuinely enduring hardship each evening," cautioned one representative.

Long-Term Challenges and Truce Provisions

The next stage of the ceasefire includes arrangements for the reconstruction of Gaza, along with future administration, the withdrawal of military forces, and other terms.

Aid organizations have stressed the need for "greater and continuous humanitarian assistance to meet urgent and long-term requirements."

The war was triggered by an assault in the autumn of 2023. Later campaigns have caused a substantial number of casualties in the area, as per health ministry data.
