Three In Contention for Young Sports Personality Prize

England footballer Michelle Agyemang, darts sensation Luke Littler and batswoman Davina Perrin have been shortlisted for the upcoming Young Sports Personality of the Year award.
The three finalists have been recognised for their outstanding achievements over the past 12 months.
Agyemang was instrumental as the Lionesses win Euro 2025, Littler claimed the world title for the first time, and Perrin rose to fame with a record-breaking innings.
Littler was the recipient in 2024 after his sensational debut year.
The finalists were unveiled on a popular morning radio program.
The champion will be unveiled on the annual sports awards show on Thursday, 18 December.
The event will be broadcast from seven in the evening GMT.
Michelle Agyemang
Age: 19 Sport: Football
A mere three months after her senior team debut, Agyemang played a pivotal and thrilling role in England's run to winning the Euros.
She came off the bench to score vital last-gasp goals in both the knockout stage games.
These match-saving moments led to her being named the tournament's top young talent.
Later in the year, she was awarded the Golden Girl trophy for the finest emerging star on the continent.
She was also nominated for the Kopa Trophy for the world's best under-21 female player.
Agyemang, who has been on loan at Brighton from Arsenal, ruptured her anterior cruciate ligament in October.
"To be named a finalist for Young Sports Personality of the Year is a privilege," said Agyemang. "Thank you to God and I'm grateful for the support I've received from my loved ones, mentors, colleagues and supporters."
Luke Littler
Age: 18 Sport: Darts
Littler kicked off the year in sensational style as - while still 17 - he became the earliest-ever winner in history.
He secured a comprehensive triumph over Michael van Gerwen in the final.
His subsequent victory at the World Matchplay made him only the fifth competitor to complete the prestigious PDC Triple Crown.
His success continued - his triumph in November's Grand Slam of Darts meant he ascended to world number one for the first time.
At 18, he is the most youthful player to do so, smashing the previous record.
"To receive a nomination for the honour once more is a huge privilege," stated Littler. "Winning last year was a proud moment for me and I've had another unbelievable 12 months. I want to continue promoting darts."
Perrin's Profile
Age: 19 Sport: Cricket
Perrin is one of English cricket's top prospects and burst into the spotlight with an extraordinary and record-breaking innings in August.
Her brilliant 42-ball century in The Hundred is the speediest century from an England batswoman in T20s.
It also stands as the equal third-quickest women's T20 century in a major league or full member T20 international.
Perrin came in second place in the run-scoring charts and was named the Professional Cricketers' Association's top young women's player.
"I'm incredibly grateful to be named a finalist for the Young Sports Star award," expressed Perrin. "It means a great deal. I hope it encourages more young women to get into cricket."
