Nigel Farage Claims Teachers of ‘Poisoning Our Kids’ on Race Issues
The political figure stated that teachers would go on strike within weeks a success at the polls for his party, charging that they are “poisoning our kids” by instructing students that African-Caribbean youth are oppressed and white children oppressors.
During an event for a private US Christian college, the politician expressed his perspective on British schools, claiming that the “Marxist left” had “now in control of our education system”.
“I’m anticipating a walkout by educators soon after securing a victory,” Farage commented in response to questions.
“They are poisoning our kids. They instruct children to feel guilt about their nation. They inform an eight-year-old black child that he is oppressed and a white child of the same age that he is an oppressor. They create division, instead of fostering unity. They are feeding this negative culture.”
In response to Farage’s claims, Daniel Kebede rejected the notion that the education system was controlled by Marxists as “nonsense”. Kebede noted that industrial action must relate to teachers’ terms and conditions, and questioned whether Reform would attack these right after taking office.
“Farage has built his political career on coded rhetoric and now, like Trump, he is lining up teachers and their unions for a fight,” Kebede stated.
“This is highly reckless. Neither I nor our union – advocate such divisive theories as he’s suggesting … If he were to lead the government he would sell out our public services, including education … and the outcome would be catastrophic for students and learning.”
Reform, which is leading the polls by a significant margin, has provided limited specifics on a proposed education policy and seems not to have designated an education lead.
However, his comments indicated the party would overhaul the system and the curriculum. Farage declared: “We have got a massive job with schooling – absolutely herculean. Moreover, we can’t do it in six months or a year; it will take us years, years to turn this around.”
He stated that gen Z was more open to critical thinking, but millennials were “absolutely hopeless”.
Paying tribute to Charlie Kirk, Farage said: “My goal for schooling is to teach critical thinking – to instruct people that there are two points of view and you make up your own mind rather than current practices where views are labeled good or bad. It’s a massive job in both Britain and America.”
Reform has previously clashed with a major educators’ organization, after Kebede called the party “extremist and prejudiced” and dismissed Farage as “a poundshop Donald Trump”.
The politician has charged Kebede of being “a self-declared Marxist” … an individual intent that our children should be poisoned through education, their minds should be poisoned about everything to do with this country” and has argued that the union is trying to indoctrinate youth opposed to his party.
Roughly a million individuals are employed in education in the UK, about half of whom are teachers and the remainder being assistants and administrative personnel. The major education union has hundreds of thousands of members.
Countrywide walkouts over teacher pay and conditions in recent years led to significant interruptions in schools and extensive missed instruction for students.
During the American gathering, Farage also vowed to promote the digital courses of the institution in the UK. He said organizations like it were “part of the fightback”, adding that: “I mean this. I will help garner hundreds of thousands, if not millions of youth to your online courses. I pledge this now and I’ll do that.”
The college, a small private Christian college, provides complimentary classes. According to its online description: “A scientific, literary, theological, political, and moral education is necessary for personal happiness and to perpetuate the blessings of freedom. The college furnishes these excellent programs for free to all who wish to learn.”
