A budget proposal that would terminate the longest government shutdown in American history is advancing toward the House of Representatives for a decisive ballot on midweek.

On day 43 of the budget deadlock, congressional members are coming back to Washington to determine if they will pass a legislative agreement that would finance public services for 60 days.

GOP leaders stated assurance the funding measure would be approved by the House of Representatives, notwithstanding their tight margin. But top Democrats pledged to fight it.
