BF6 Gamers Agree: Challenges Are Excessively Difficult
The launch of the highly anticipated Battlefield 6 garnered broad praise, notably for its premier multiplayer mode. On Steam alone, simultaneous player numbers surged to nearly 750,000. Nevertheless, despite its popularity, an increasing amount of players are expressing frustration over several of the title's most difficult challenges, which are mandatory to obtain particular firearms.
Users have commenced using custom matches created through the custom game tool to achieve these objectives, emphasizing just how grueling these challenges have become.
Grasping BF6 Assignments
Missions serve as Battlefield 6's permanent multiplayer tasks, different from the periodically changed everyday and weekly missions. The game includes four types of assignments, but although many simply offer skins and a few gadgets, finishing the gun missions is the exclusive means of getting twelve from the forty-one primary weapons present in the game.
Several of these locked weapons may soon make their appearance on rosters of the top weapons in Battlefield 6.
Gamer Backlash across Reddit
Over on Reddit, players are understandably sharing their frustrations about how challenging and repetitive a number of these challenges are. A particular gamer highlighted one of the most outrageous examples, needed to obtain the KTS100 MK8 LMG:
- Suppress 300 enemies with LMGs
- Inflict 10,000 hipfire damage with LMGs
"This task is so atrocious and completely out of mind, I want to tear my hair out," is a quote that summarizes just how annoyingly hard these tasks are.
The suppression mechanic in Battlefield is less effective than in previous titles in the series, so it has significantly fewer advantages in battle as it had in previous games. It only registers as suppression if you fire a burst without hitting the target.
Meanwhile, using an LMG from the hip is wildly inaccurate and functions solely at very short distances, which isn't typically where you prefer to be. The commenter also noted the contradiction in the SMG challenge, to unlock the SCW-10, which requires kills while aiming down the sights, when that mission would be much better suited to hipfire kills, and the other way around.
Another Overly Demanding Mission
A different forum member highlighted another ridiculously tough challenge, now in the marksman rifle class to access the PSR:
- Achieve 150 headshot eliminations from more than 200 meters away with sniper rifles
This is tough enough by itself, but there's an additional crucial factor to consider: the majority of Battlefield 6 maps don't even support combat at that kind of range.
There's a healthy variety of map sizes, but because there are just nine battlegrounds in the game currently, it implies you must stick to playing New Sobek City, Mirak Valley, and possibly Operation Firestorm in a best-case scenario if you aim to take long-range shots from a significant distance.
The Bypass
However, there is a solution: Battlefield Portal. The custom game creator is a system that permits you to make custom game modes on whatever map you choose, including AI opponents. This allows you can bypass the intended method… but it isn't truly in line with the developer's vision.
However, when doing the challenges in a standard match feels like anti-playing, since you have to play in such an unorthodox manner that doesn't benefit you or your team, is it surprising for grinding them out in a private match so teammates aren't hindered?
Future Adjustments
It should not be shocking if several of these tasks are toned down in the near future, because if they're not, some players simply won't get their hands on the gated weapons.
Currently, the community continues to express their views on these demanding in-game tasks, hoping for a fairer overall gameplay in coming revisions.
