Beloved Star The actor Pat Finn, Famed For Appearances in The Middle and Friends, Passes Away at Age 60.
US entertainer Pat Finn, who was seen in popular programs such as "Friends", Seinfeld and The Middle, has succumbed at the age of 60.
The comedic improv actor died at home in Los Angeles on Monday following treatment for a cancer diagnosis from 2022 onward, according to news outlets.
"Pat saw everyone as a friend - solely future friends he had yet to meet," his family shared in a statement.
They continued that he had "experienced life to the fullest - with happiness and energy".
An Extensive TV Career
His initial on-screen part was on the George Wendt Show in the mid-90s, where he appeared as the lead character's sibling.
He also had a regular part on "Murphy Brown" in the latter half of the 1990s.
He starred as Joe Mayo in Seinfeld in 1998, portraying a host known to delegate burdensome jobs to his guests.
Throughout the end of the 90s and start of the 2000s, he appeared as a guest star on a variety of popular shows, like:
- The King of Queens
- Friends
- "That '70s Show"
- "House"
His most famous role for his portrayal of Bill Norwood in The Middle, appearing throughout eight seasons between 2011 and 2018.
His cinematic roles encompass It's Complicated (2009) and "Santa Paws 2".
Off-Screen Life
Beyond his television work, Finn was deeply involved in improvisational comedy and served as an educator at the University of Colorado, where he was an adjunct professor.
He was involved with a comedy group of six called Beer Shark Mice.
"Pat coached, befriended and mentored many learners throughout the years and it's nearly impossible to find anyone anywhere who has a bad thing to say about him," his family wrote.
Paying homage, peer actor Richard Kind noted there was "nobody more kind, gentle, and humorous, down to earth person you could encounter".
"Consistently upbeat, making those around him better and funnier. An excellent dad and person," he posted publicly.
Finn is remembered by his partner Donna, three children, and his family.
